We would like to pay tribute to our amazing hard-working and compassionate staff. It's not easy working in a GP practice; and alongside the great feedback the Patient Survey shows that there is also still room for improvement. Day in, day out, our team are committed to making us one of the best GP practices in England.

We also want to recognise our patients and local NHS partners in the PCN and ICB. Thank you for your support, understanding and feedback, all of which have helped us achieve these patient survey results.

Our progress towards sustainable care

It's common knowledge that primary care is stretched.

At Westwood Road Surgery, we're adopting modern processes and technology to help us provide the best care possible for our patients. For example, with our online request system, you no longer need to call reception at 8am or visit the practice in-person to request help.

We understand that some people prefer a more old-fashioned practice, but we think this is the only approach that will make primary care sustainable.

Registering as a new patient

We're accepting new patients

If you're new to the area or looking to register we're accepting new patients section in Reading and the surrounding area. Our inner catchment area is marked in red, but under the NHS GP Out of Area scheme we also accept patients from across Reading and Berkshire. Some services, such as home visits, may not be available to Out of Area patients.

The registration form typically takes under 10 minutes to complete. We're not able to offer non-urgent appointments until we receive your medical records from your previous GP, typically 2-14 days, but urgent care needs will still assessed appropriately.

You'll find free parking spaces on-site, so you won't need to worry about feeding the meter or getting a ticket.Our practice is conveniently located for anyone living in Reading and the surrounding areas.
